Warren – A groundbreaking ceremony for the new Civic Center on Van Dyke just north of 9 Mile will be held Thursday, October 12 at noon.

Warren Mayor Jim Fouts said the new development is “exciting because of its location and combined branch library, 24-7 police station, a mini-city hall and a special needs accessible playground.”

Warren Mayor Jim Fouts also added that the Burnette Branch Library at Continental and Lozier will become a much larger, and more modern 9,400 square foot branch library at the new location.  “This development will serve Warren’s older neighborhoods within walking distance,” said Mayor Fouts, adding that “This branch library will be the second one serving older neighborhoods. “

The first one being the Busch Branch Library, an energy efficient 6,640 sq. ft. library with a multimedia conference room for 50, an adult computer lab, with Wi-Fi internet and wireless printing throughout the Re-Opened after 53 Years, and is part of the administration’s commitment to rejuvenating Warren’s older neighborhoods.
