Mayor Jim Fouts Highlights the City’s Accomplishments and Initiatives.

 

Warren Mayor Jim Fouts’ will deliver the eleventh annual State of the city address on Thursday, March 22.

Mayor Fouts’ State of the City address will highlight some of the City’s Accomplishments and Initiatives during 2017.  Also the Mayor will credit several initiatives that have greatly improved the quality of life of the residents of the City of Warren.  Some of the programs that will be covered include the City’s “People Against Illegal Drugs” or P.A.I.D. initiative; major economic improvements including corporate expansions, new businesses and jobs.

The Mayor will also highlight progress in public safety, including the Neighborhood Watch Program, PAID program, and a new Police K-9 Unit.  Mayor Fouts will also highlight several new sustainability achievements and conservation initiatives such as the new detention basin, the new LED street lighting program, and a green space initiative.  It is important to note, that such programs have made the City of Warren one of the safest U.S. cities from natural disasters.

Mayor Fouts will also take this opportunity to highlight new city initiatives centered on community development programs such as the two new branch libraries, recent road improvements, and plans on developing a new Civic Center.

During the State of the City address, Mayor Fouts will also honor Warren Cousino Boys Soccer division Champs, Warren Woods Tower girls Volleyball Class A District Champions, and Warren De La Salle State Division 2 Champions.

The Mayor of Warren is also expected to make a major announcements regarding a major lawsuit, property acquisition, and the development of the new downtown which is estimated at a $125 million.

All net proceeds from the 2018 State of the City Address will go toward supporting the Macomb Special Olympics.
