National Mayors’ Organization Praises City of Warren’s Anti-Blight Program
The United States Conference of Mayors has awarded its City Livability Award to Warren’s anti-blight program: Operation: Clean Sweep.
The City of Warren is one of only 10 Cities Nationwide to earn this recognition.
In a letter dated May 8, 2018, the Washington, D.C. group wrote to Warren Mayor Jim Fouts, the organization praised the mayor “for your outstanding leadership in support of urban livability.” The 20 award-winning cities were determined by an independent panel of judges, selected by The U.S. Conference of Mayors.
Warren earned one of only ten awards in national competition for large cities with populations over 100,000. “This is one of the most prestigious awards our city has received during my 10+ years as mayor,” said Mayor Fouts in a statement.
“It’s especially significant because of my goal for a safer, cleaner city.” added the Mayor.
