Warren Mayor Jim Fouts said General Motors’ Technical Center there has brought further economic development to his city, and with a $1 billion investment it’s only expected to accelerate.
“As a result of all this GM investment” stated Mayor Fouts, Warren has “…had some very serious offers toward our downtown area,”. The Mayor further outlined some of those offers which include:
A new, Prestige Cadillac dealership currently under construction.
A new Menard’s home improvement store, a new Meijer’s supermarket, with an attached garden center, a gas station with up to six electric vehicle charging stations, as well as a new Kroger.
Some other highlights from Mayor’s State of the State speech included outlining plans to combat blight, a campaign aimed at residential buyers to purchase property in Warren, and plans on streamlining the efficiency of street lights.
