A statement on refocusing our goals toward helping those impacted by the devastating storms.
Currently there is a lot of talk and controversy nationally on patriotism in professional sports.
However, shouldn’t that focus be on helping Americans who are in desperate need of help for food, water and the basic substance of life in Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, as well as Florida and Houston.
Shouldn’t that be the focus?
For example, Puerto Rico is completely devastated by Hurricane Maria.
Their food crop is all but destroyed. No AC and little if any energy of any kind.
People in Houston and Florida are still suffering and in great need.
Seems to me there should be an effort nationally to re-focus some of our goals toward helping all those damaged by a series of devastating storms.
Instead of being preoccupied with symbolism we ought to be dealing with reality.
