WARREN MAYOR JAMES FOUTS DIRECTS WARREN CITY HALL TO BE ILLUMINATED RED IN SOLIDARITY AMYLOIDOSIS AWARENESS MONTH

Warren Mayor James Fouts has directed that Warren City Hall will be lit up red on Saturday, March 6, 2021 from dusk until dawn on Sunday, March 7, 2021 to bring awareness to Amyloidosis.

Warren resident Linda Malaspina and the Amyloidosis Foundation both contacted Warren Mayor James Fouts and requested that the City of Warren brings awareness to this disease by participating in the “Light the Night for Amyloidosis. “Light the Night for Amyloidosis” is an awareness campaign created to draw attention to amyloidosis symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and hopefully a cure. Linda is directly impacted because it is in her family.. Linda is directly impacted because it is in her family.

Warren’s participation helps bring greater recognition to this important rare disease – Amyloidosis is a rare disease that occurs when a substance called amyloid builds up in your organs. Amyloid is an abnormal protein that is produced in your bones and can be deposited in any tissue or organ. It can affect different organs in different people, and there are different types of amyloid.

Amyloidosis frequently affects the heart, kidneys, liver, spleen, nervous system and digestive tract. Severe amyloidosis can lead to life-threatening organ failure.

Warren Mayor James Fouts is honored to help bring public awareness and understanding to Amyloidosis and its dangers.
